La Hechicera is Spanish for "the enchantress"... This rum was made in Colombia and is aged in a bourbon barrel solera. Boasting rich notes of chocolatey, earthen spice, sweet fruits, and delicate vanilla, it's very good indeed.
Check out this recipe for a delicious Dash of Danger Daiquiri! Ideal if you like fancy some spicy heat in your serves.
50ml La Hechicera Fine Aged Rum
15ml Lime juice
15ml Sugar syrup
15ml Ancho Reyes Verde Chile Liqueur
Fresh chilli pepper for garnish
Shake all the ingredients in a shaker with ice, strain into a coupe glass, and garnish with a fresh chilli pepper.
Coffee beans and chocolate. Plantains, peppermint leaves and vanilla cream. Chocolate.
Plum jam and dark chocolate. A little chilli, black pepper, cinnamon and cassia bark.
Nutmeg and cocoa. Peppercorns and vanilla.
I have always been a rum drinker but this put a whole new spin on the drink. Lovely and smooth with a hint of the Jack Daniels
I find this rum to be exactly what a good rum should be. Woody and complex, it shows the value of time well spent in an American white oak barrel. It is refreshing to find a dry, mature and serious rum amongst so many sweet and sticky posers!
This is a beautiful, elegant rum. It showed well with coffee cream toffee, slightly solvent fruitiness, dry wood with hints of dried citrus fruit peel. Elegant herbal and tobacco leaf notes before long finish of spice, cocoa dust, banana toffee.
A really top notch rum - dry, smooth as silk and complex aromas and flavours. If you're after a sweet rum pick a Diplomatico RE or a Zacapa 23. If you're after top quality rum it really doesn't get much better than La H for me... though annoyingly still quite hard to find.
Thank you for notifying of this! You're right, we won't stand for lower prices elsewhere, so we've reduced the price for when this lovely bottle comes back into stock :) The Chaps @ Master of Malt
