Gosling’s Black Seal combines rums from both pot and continuous column stills. The name comes from the black wax that was originally used to seal the bottles, but now there’s an actual black seal on the label. The iconic rum has been produced in Bermuda since 1806, which is a pretty long time. "If you're doing something right, don't fix it" and all that... You’d be a fool not to serve this in a Dark ‘n’ Stormy, as the cocktail is actually trademarked by the Gosling brothers.
Sweet, dark, cooked fruits. Fruitcake, spice, herbal.
Balanced with thick, sweet spices, stewed fruits.
Spiced, crisp, tingling.
Below par; not much in the way of the complex molasses, fruit or vanilla flavours you might hope for and it seems stronger than 40%. Harsh on your throat and stomach. I've tasted better supermarket own brand rum, having said that it's better than some French rum I've had the misfortune to try, give me a glass of Mount Gay thanks.
A lovely rum to drink neat.Smooth, sweet and a luxurious mouth feel. I recommend highly.
I have found this to be a very good mixing rum. I love to mix this with a classic cola or create my own dark 'n stormy - would definitely recommend.
Yep, a few have mentioned it, and I'd agree, not a sipper, but mixed with a cola, it's the best. Lovely in cocktails. Got that dark, sweet molasses thing going on! Mmmmmmm
This tasty rum is my favourite for cocktails and impressing my friends with a dark and stormy.
