Eminente Gran Reserva 10 Year Old Edition No.1 - French Oak Finish
Premium Cuban rum from Eminente here. The aguardiente was made from molasses distilled to 75% ABV (alcohol by volume) and then aged in white oak ex-whisky barrels before being blended and aged again with traditional light Cuban rum distilled to 95% ABV. For the first edition of Eminente Gran Reserva, the 10-year-old Cuban rum was then treated to a three-month finish in French oak barrels in a dry cellar. Beautiful stuff, this.

Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Intense, elegant, and complex - the initial aroma of freshly roasted coffee, red fruits, and flowers gives way to a touch of honey and vanilla with a nice almost minty freshness.
Palate
Well-balanced, unctuous, and deep with a fruity profile, driven by dried apricot and orange blossom with notes of sandalwood, hazelnut, and allspice.
Finish
Silky, persistent, and sweet with the spicy character of Sichuan pepper, caramel, pine sap, and saffron.
