    El Dorado 15 Year Old

A delicious blend of Caribbean rum, El Dorado 15 Year Old marries spirits from the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still and the Versailles single wooden pot still. All the tasty spirits are blended and then aged in bourbon oak casks before bottling. This was rated the best rum in the world at the International Wine and Spirit Competition four years running, and for good reason.

    Nice

Nice taste….is it worth the extra money from the 12 yo……probably not. Personally think the Brugal 1888 and plantation xo are a better bet…..IMHO

    Beautifully smooth, but................

A really good, smooth and delicious rum. Only marginally better than the 12 year old version, so I tend to reserve this for special occasions. Yes I'll give it 5-stars but for everyday drinking I buy the 12 because of the rather significant price differential.

    Disappointing for the price

When I tried the first mouthful I felt that this was a mature nicely rounded and aged rum. However as I have continued to work my way through the bottle I have grown disappointed with it's rude rough fiery notes. Any feeling of mature quality has been lost. Overpriced in my opinion.

Good but not as good as I was hoping

Enjoyed it but still to find one as good as Diplomatico rerserva. Trying the Diplomatico familia next.

Distinctive, rich and far too drinkable

Distinctive and different - perhaps it's those wooden stills - this is layers of molasses, a dry but gentle woodiness, and noticable edge of something almost liquorice. There's an edge too, of what I can only describe as dirty. So drinkable, rich yet never sweet. I have no idea how it compares to the old heavily sugared one, only that this is seriously good.
