A snazzy looking rum all the way from Venezuela, Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva is a molasses based rum that is distilled in copper pot stills and matured in whiskey barrels. Top stuff for sipping neat or over ice, but also a very good bottle to have on hand when rum cocktails are on the menu. If you're feeling particularly experimental, try using Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva in place of a whiskey in a Manhattan. It works excellently. This fab rum was awarded a Gold Medal at the International Sugar Cane Spirits Tasting Competition in Ybor City.
Aromatic with hints of sultanas, chocolate, Christmas cake and gingerbread. Offers up bananas and custard with time in the glass.
Cocoa and vanilla, huge notes of oaky spice, brandy, plums and pepper.

Some very odd reviews. Rum is made of sugar...OK it is distilled etc...but cannot see your problem. It is nor 'just a liqueur, not rum' . It is damned good rum. Perhaps the complainers should sick to Lamb's Navy.
Love the Diplomatico Reserva exclusive. Great drink neat but personally love a rum old fashioned with Diplomatico or the Brugal 1888.
A really great rum. Full of flavour, incredibly smooth and a punchy aroma. Would recommend sipping neat without ice. I found that adding ice diluted the taste far too much.

This was the first time of trying Diplimatico and WOW a wonderful drink great on its own spicy with a hint of whisky smooth and herbal. I will keep one of these in at all times. This is a rum you can drink at anytime.
