From Manchester-based Diablesse comes a Clementine Spiced Rum! It's made with Demerara rum from the Diamond Distillery in Guyana, using native sugar cane molasses and traditional pot and column still distillation. It's then naturally flavoured with clementine and a warm spice mix inspired by the Caribbean containing vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, star anise and clove.
Gingerbread, toasted cinnamon, clementine zest.
Toffee apple, clementine zest – balances cooked sugar.
Warm pimento, sticky gingerbread, sweetness balanced by ‘zestiness’: fresh, bright, vibrant, natural, soft warm spice.
This is delicious mixed with ginger beer but even better with fevertree spiced orange and ginger. A real treat, will definitely buy again
I received a sample sized bottle of this in this year's (2021) MoM Advent Calendar. It has a scent, in my opinion, that is similar to but less powerful than Rumbullion! The most predominant scent would be cola. I tried it mixed with some extra spicy Ginger Beer, and the result was a very drinkable beverage. It's about the same price as Rumbullion! and has a similar flavour, so you really can't go wrong.
I received a bottle of this from the Craft Rum Club a few months ago. Since then it has firmly taken the top spot that is my favourite rum and is one of the nicest I've had from the club so far. Absolutely delicious, the spices and clementine come through nicely. Amazing straight, but also mixes well with normal ginger ale as well as Fever Tree's Spiced Orange ginger ale. Highly recommended.
I bought this last Christmas, a gift for my daughter’s partner. He loved and asked for another bottle this year.
On the sweetish side, as expected, but dangerously moreish! Nothing artificial tasting about it.
