From Manchester-based Diablesse comes a Clementine Spiced Rum! It's made with Demerara rum from the Diamond Distillery in Guyana, using native sugar cane molasses and traditional pot and column still distillation. It's then naturally flavoured with clementine and a warm spice mix inspired by the Caribbean containing vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, star anise and clove.
Gingerbread, toasted cinnamon, clementine zest.
Toffee apple, clementine zest – balances cooked sugar.
Warm pimento, sticky gingerbread, sweetness balanced by ‘zestiness’: fresh, bright, vibrant, natural, soft warm spice.
My wife gave me a bottle for Christmas and I absolutely loved it from the first sip. Gorgeous sweet clementines followed by a whirl of spices. Try it with Coke Zero and it's like a Terry's Chocolate Orange. It's rich so not one I would drink all night or every night, I save this as a special treat. Quite simply, my favourite spiced rum ever.
This is a great rum, the clementine really shines through. This mixes great with fever tree ginger ale with orange.
Not sure if wrong stuff in bottle I got but would not call it Clementine rum. It is a very nice gingerbread rum though.
This is something else, first you get the sweet orange before the mellow spices come through. Works well with mixers too.
The Diablesse Clementine rum is a hit; reminded me a bit of Drambuie (with its slight sweetness and rich texture) I’m thinking it could work rather well as a replacement for the gin in a Negroni? Of the two the golden is my top but they do different jobs so that’s the whole point! Excellent either straight or mixed.
