That Boutique-y Rum Company returned to its favourite Columbian ageing house, Casa Santana for this batch of rum, which joins the indie bottler's Cinema Series. The Casa Santana team follows the Cuban method to age and blend rums of different origins and profiles into flavour bases for its expressions, and bottled at a hearty 57.7% ABV, this full proof six-year-old certainly packs plenty of character.
Batch 5 is a release of 550 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Generous waves of creamy vanilla and caramel, zesty citrus, and a hint of almond, with delicately floral blossom in the distance.
Palate
Juicy tropical fruits and toffee sweetness mingle, with pineapple and mango joined by rich, runny caramel.
Finish
Plump sultanas and prunes join a pinch of pepper for the finish, backed by gentle oaken spice.
