Captain Morgan is a dark rum seen on back-bars around the world. This is made using a blend of Jamaican, Guyanese and Bajan rums. Great in loads of cocktails and mixed drinks - Captain & Cola is a classic for a reason.
Spiced, rich. Molasses and pepper.
Full, warming. Stone fruits, dried peels, a hint of aniseed.
Aniseed develops into the finish, honey too.
Far to harsh to drink neat.
Best testing ever just carnt get it from my local shops
OK, first off I'm not a big drinker these days, once a month, if that. I used to over indulge in my teens and a bad night with Bells whiskey has left a deep scar in the memory. The moment I opened the bottle I knew I wasn't going to be drinking it. The smell fired old memories of Bells like you wouldn't believe. It probably tastes lovely but I wouldn't know, I just couldn't get past the smell.
It dose the job and taste nice . Mixing it with Coke ?? Are you insane?? I usually drink Pirates Grot rum . Captain Morgan original rum is a fantastic tasteful rum to drink (NEAT!!) I can't get my head around people who mix Coke with Rums or whiskeys! Cheap never means a bad rum . People who slate Captain Morgan rum wouldn't no the difference if they thought it was an expensive rum. Massive rum lover here and I'd definitely recommend it. Remember to drink sensibly.
For me still a good base mixer rum and certainly not a sipper.
