A sure-fire hit from Ableforth's, Rumbullion! is a cockle-warming spiced concoction, based on the kind of rich, full-bodied rums the seafaring fraternity would have enjoyed centuries ago.
At the core of this fabulous winter warmer lies a blend of the very finest high proof Caribbean rum, to which was added creamy Madagascan vanilla and a generous helping of zesty orange peel. A secret recipe was followed, finished with a handful of cassia and cloves and just a hint of cardamom.
Rumbullion! proudly flaunts its maritime inspiration with a label that bears a hand-drawn illustration of a Navy grog tub, and just like all of the fine spirits in the Ableforth's arsenal, each bottle is wrapped in brown paper, wound with twine and sealed with black wax.
Enjoy it neat, or with ice and squeeze of fresh lime.
We reckon Rumbullion is one of our Best Rums under £40!
A fabulously decadent nose of intense, sweet vanilla and flamed orange zest. The cardamom makes itself known by offering up an evocative suggestion of old-fashioned cola, and to this the cloves bring out a deep, dark complexity. Yet more sweetness with cinnamon, which melds beautifully with essential oil notes of Seville orange peel.
At once a fabulous mix of thick cut bitter orange marmalade and tingling, zinging spices. Hints of Manuka honey and mouth-watering cinnamon form its heart, with molasses, candy floss, toffee apples, crème brûlée and clove-studded oranges.
A long finish, with tongue-prickling spices, and a stunning degree of freshness as cinnamon, orange and creamy, sweet vanilla notes coat the palate for minutes.
Rich and profoundly intense, this is a rum to see you through the coldest months.

Dark, strong, warming. Initial nose of vanilla, molasses and warming Christmas spices, on the tongue it has more than a hint of Oxford thick cut marmalade, cinnamon, clove, and a light background hint of green cardamom, as the heddy punch leaves, it gifts your tongue with a demerrera and creme anglaise finish. As a very special old Dutch friend of mine would have said....it tastes like an angel pi$$ing on your tongue!
This thing doesn't taste like rum at all, it tastes like moonshine and medicine with a cough syrup finish.
Nice if you like liqueurs
Love it
I'm a newbie to rum drinking, but have been making up for lost time since I tried Chairman's Reserve Spiced rum in Cornwall, one cold winter's afternoon. I didn't think I'd taste better than Chairman's .. but then I sipped Rumbullion. What an experience. Sweet, warm, complex, dark amber elixir. The hunt for something comparable or, dare I say it, better, will drive my rum drinking for years to come. Got my Rumfest tickets, but I don't expect to find anything to match this wonderful liquid.
