A sure-fire hit from Ableforth's, Rumbullion! is a cockle-warming spiced concoction, based on the kind of rich, full-bodied rums the seafaring fraternity would have enjoyed centuries ago.
At the core of this fabulous winter warmer lies a blend of the very finest high proof Caribbean rum, to which was added creamy Madagascan vanilla and a generous helping of zesty orange peel. A secret recipe was followed, finished with a handful of cassia and cloves and just a hint of cardamom.
Rumbullion! proudly flaunts its maritime inspiration with a label that bears a hand-drawn illustration of a Navy grog tub, and just like all of the fine spirits in the Ableforth's arsenal, each bottle is wrapped in brown paper, wound with twine and sealed with black wax.
Enjoy it neat, or with ice and squeeze of fresh lime.
We reckon Rumbullion is one of our Best Rums under £40!
A fabulously decadent nose of intense, sweet vanilla and flamed orange zest. The cardamom makes itself known by offering up an evocative suggestion of old-fashioned cola, and to this the cloves bring out a deep, dark complexity. Yet more sweetness with cinnamon, which melds beautifully with essential oil notes of Seville orange peel.
At once a fabulous mix of thick cut bitter orange marmalade and tingling, zinging spices. Hints of Manuka honey and mouth-watering cinnamon form its heart, with molasses, candy floss, toffee apples, crème brûlée and clove-studded oranges.
A long finish, with tongue-prickling spices, and a stunning degree of freshness as cinnamon, orange and creamy, sweet vanilla notes coat the palate for minutes.
Rich and profoundly intense, this is a rum to see you through the coldest months.

I personally am not a shelf drinker, however, the Rumbullion is a gorgeous and a easily palatable drink, would thoroughly recommend this rum to anyone.
Toasted hot cross buns, Kola Kubes and Tizer(!) on the nose. Very sweet, lots of vanilla, cinnamon and a weirdly synthetic aftertaste, and at 42.6% it has that slight extra punch to stop it being sickly. Being a bourbon drinker dipping my toes into the world of spiced rum I don't know if this is a decent yardstick to go by but it was weirdly compelling and easy to drink neat.
Riot of intense flavour with lime citrus running over ice rocks......
lovely coffee notes... lots of flavour
I get oranges and Cinnamon in a big way and clove, its smooth, but deep and heavy also. It's absoluley delicious as a mixer, it's a really good rum. Now I've read the notes I have picked up on the cardamom, but it's subtle, which is no bad thing. I am not a massive rum fan, but I would be tempted to buy a full bottle of this this it's pretty damn good.
