Redbreast 18 Year Old

This edition of the much adored single pot still Irish whiskey matured for a generous 18 years! The whiskey is aged in a combo of bourbon barrels as well as casks seasoned with oloroso sherry, cream sherry, and ruby Port chosen by master blender David McCabe.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Sweet notes of red fruits and hedgerow berries, candied cherries, dried figs, and honeyed dates.

Palate:

Characterful layers of tannic oak balance rich, fruit-forward sweetness, with juicy sultanas, blackberries, and plums.

Finish:

Those dark fruit notes linger alongside hints of marzipan and warming oaken spice.

The delightful single pot still Redbreast 12 Year Old is distilled at the Midleton site from malted and unmalted barley, then matured in American oak bourbon barrels and Spanish oak Oloroso sherry butts.

A beautiful pure pot still whiskey (or "single pot still" as it's now officially known). Redbreast 15 is a rich, thick, sweet, pungent whiskey with loads of flavour and complexity - really good stuff!

A masterpiece of cask selection and blending, we love this older expression with its notes of tropical fruit, menthol and a touch of leather alongside the mouth-filling goodness you find across the range.

This single-pot still Irish whiskey was initially matured in a combination of American and European oak casks for 9 to 12 years, before being transferred over to first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks.
