This is the 2013 vintage Los Siete Misterios Tobala double distilled Mezcal, made using Tobala agave. Tobala are different from your average Espadin agave, a regular favourite for use in Mezcal. Instead of the long, pointed leaves of the Espadin, the Tobala feature wide, flat leaves and a smaller piña, which means more of them are used to make the same amount of Mezcal.
Fans of the popular book series/television show/guideline for how not to rule a kingdom, Game of Thrones, may recognise the chair featured on this label. Or maybe it's just a big agave plant growing behind the skeleton. Who knows?
