Romano Levi Amaro della Donna Selvatica
An intriguing amaro herbal liqueuer from the Romano Levi Distillery in the Piedmont region of Italy. The family distillery was run by brother and sister duo Romano and Lidia Levi throughout the 20th Century. Romano became extremely talented and producing Grappa, whilst Lidia developed a great depth of knowledge of local herbs, which she began to infuse in her brother's products. Amaro della Donna Selvatica translates from Italian as "bitter of the wild woman", replicating one of Lidia's original recipes – Grappa is infused with the likes of bitter orange, gentian, sage, and hops. Wild indeed!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Bitter orange and citrus peels, intense bitter herbs combining vegetal notes of mint and sage with drying cinnamon, clove, and liquorice.
