Don't listen to the (one) naysayer. This product is top drawer. It's got a weird taste for sure, but actually it's excellence is to be found in the versatility it has across many, many cocktails. It adds a certain something that really brings out the flavour in your drink. To be fair I didn't lie it when I first tried it but have since realised that it's quite genius in its application.
I buy the Luxardo maraschino cherries for cocktails and they are wonderful. But this is really dreadful stuff. It is like sweetened, diluted cheap kirsch. I quite literally poured it down the drain. I have a lot of random liquers, aperitifs etc. I can be creative with them. Not this. It is vile stuff.
I've tried various other brands. Briottet is blend; Giffard is alright. This is fantastic. Don't worry about the extra cost. It will transform cocktails like Martinez, Last Word, Royal Cocktail, Beachcomber, etc.
