Drambuie
Drambuie is a very famous whisky liqueur made with Scotch whisky, heather and herbs and spices. Produced in West Lothian, Scotland, Drambuie offers flavours such as anise, nutmeg and saffron.
Drambuie has a long history dating back to the 18th century when it was first created in Scotland.
Drambuie is often enjoyed neat or on the rocks, but can also be used in cocktails. It is a versatile liqueur that can be enjoyed in many ways.
This drink is dapper
I love this drink. It's sweet, pleasant and goes down well. The after taste of the spices and herbs aren't overpowering
Unfortunately the tides of time has dealt a cruel blow, the affair so many shared with the silky velvet touch to our lips, the warmth of a lovers caress now gone, damn shame such perfection has now been sacrificed, if you need to produce a poor produce than price it accordingly, at least produce the product that so many still love. Disappointing.
This remake of Drambuie is not so great, the classic Drambuie still exist out there it usually marked in blue labels and says 15 years, where this one has no age. This specific one is only for mixing, where the well known 15YO is to be tasted as is.
What the heck has happened to Drambuie.?? I stocked up around October/November 2019 with quite a number of bottles as i drink this every week and have done for years. It's no longer a thick syrup consistency. Its runny and watery and I now realise it shakes around in the bottle like water instead of sliding around in there due to ita prior thick syrup consistency. I'm ropeable! I bought 2 bottles of this rubbish. Considering asking for a refund on the unopened one but don't know if you can get a refund on alcohol. Never needed to do it before. It tastes different though only slightly but the consistancy is majority different. On top of the thinner watery consistency, it is now much harsher on the throat initially. And i just hate the watery consistency. I added honey to a small quantity to see if it improved. Once it dissolved, in my opinion is was a little closer to what it should be. So I can only assume that, at minimum, the quantity of honey has been reduced or perhaps a thickening product. Drambuie manufacturaers need to change it quick fast before they lose all their loyal customers!!! I've been buying this for 20y and will likely suffer through this opened bottle but will not be buying it again until it's changed back. Guess I need to find a new favourite drink because I suspect there is a lot of this stocked around the world that needs to be used first. I wouldn't even bother buying it at half price. It's such a disappointment! *Note* Mine is always kept in the fridge and I don't add anything to it. Checked my 2nd unopened bottle and it swishes around just the same in the bottle. The lower temperature of the fridge doesn't seemed to have made much difference. Long Term Drambuie lovers absolutely KNOW this has changed in some way! Don't change what's not broken!! I'll be writing to manufacturers to voice my opinion as well.
