Del Maguey's fabulous Crème de Mezcal is a blend of 80% San Luis del Rio Mezcal, and 20% pure agave syrup. The result is a sweet, unusual spirit. The label bears the slogan "For women only… and a few strong men".
A rich, roasted nose of maguey plant, soft smoke, custard, hints of stewed apples, pears and pepper. A little smoked almond.
Tropical fruits on the palate; notes of guava, pineapple, a little coconut, and then fresh espresso, black pepper and mint.
Marmalade and sweet smoke on the finish.
As a straight drink overpoweringly sweet and a weird smell (?). Mixed into an Ultima Palabra tasted against another Mezcal this wasn't even in the running. No smoke no heat and not for me. Not sure who or where this one is targeting to be honest
