A very snazzy bottle of The King's Ginger liqueur from Berry Bros. & Rudd, presented at the lower strength of 29.9% ABV. As the story goes, King Edward VII's doctor was concerned about the monarch, and in 1903 asked Berry Bros. & Rudd to create something to warm him – and so the liqueur was born. This is its modern take on the historical tipple! A suitably warming sipper, or a great addition to Scotch whisky cocktails.
A zip of lemon peel, with sweet candied ginger and fiery, drier root ginger on the finish.
The original receipe was delicious. However, the new one is disgusting. It taste like jiff lemon. If the marketing team read this, please please return to the original .
I can't understand all the negative reviews. This is a really lovely drink!!
Makes a lovely whisky Mac, just a bit too sweet for my taste. I still bought another bottle though.
The ‘rat’? Way too many negative reviews to be genuine, and almost all are too similar! A friend shared his hip flask of KG on the slopes last week. I have no history with the ‘old’ KG, this is my first taste. I know ginger has a kick, and yes, this does have that. And it lasts for a good few minutes. That’s just what I want. Other flavours? Maybe a little lemon, certainly not overpowering, definitely sweetness, but it’s not sickly. I’m about to buy my own bottle, so that says it all.
Brought this for years and just finished our stash so tried this new version. Just dreadful and certainly won’t buy this. Please bring back the original recipe!!!
