A very snazzy bottle of The King's Ginger liqueur from Berry Bros. & Rudd, presented at the lower strength of 29.9% ABV. As the story goes, King Edward VII's doctor was concerned about the monarch, and in 1903 asked Berry Bros. & Rudd to create something to warm him – and so the liqueur was born. This is its modern take on the historical tipple! A suitably warming sipper, or a great addition to Scotch whisky cocktails.
A zip of lemon peel, with sweet candied ginger and fiery, drier root ginger on the finish.

First taste at aged 39 a few weeks ago up a mountain the the Alps after a french skiers breakfast of pain au chocolat and croissant on the ski lift: it is throughly enjoyed by all, more so than Jäger although Jäger does have its time and place (after apres lunch).
As everyone else has stated, quite simply the worst reformulation of a previously delicious, winter-warming ginger liqueur. How to disenfranchise your entire (and loyal) customer-base. An extraordinary disaster in Brand management!
Not a patch on the original. They've ruined a classic.
Not only was the original recipe far superior to the new formula...the original bottle was unique and striking. It now looks like every other spirit/liquor on the shelves. I am trawling the Internet to find an original bottle!
Appalled at the taste of the new version. Calamitous recipe change, (cheaper to produce one suspects?), a reduced 29.9% means less duty incurred and therefore cost saving / price impact. A great drink ruined, loyal repeat customers alienated and Brand value trashed. Well done - how not to do it.
