A very snazzy bottle of The King's Ginger liqueur from Berry Bros. & Rudd, presented at the lower strength of 29.9% ABV. As the story goes, King Edward VII's doctor was concerned about the monarch, and in 1903 asked Berry Bros. & Rudd to create something to warm him – and so the liqueur was born. This is its modern take on the historical tipple! A suitably warming sipper, or a great addition to Scotch whisky cocktails.
A zip of lemon peel, with sweet candied ginger and fiery, drier root ginger on the finish.

Not as good (or as strong) as it was. Not that it matters, but I liked the old bottle better too...
Was really looking forward to trying this and must be the most disappointing drink in years. Reading previous comments should have warned me off. No fiery ginger but pretty much the taste of mild cough sweets. Nothing exotic, no fancy balance of flavour, no ginger..... Maybe they forgot to add it! I will see off many a bad drink but this is going down the sink. Save your money and buy a pack of lemon and honey 'Lockets'
I drank the original version for many years but this insipid replacement is just an insult. The manufacturers should be ashamed of themselves for trying to pass off such a poor substitute on the back of what used to be a wonderful tipple.
Used to absolutely love kings Ginger until they killed it with this new nastiness
Where is the original?????? The new formula is yet another disappointing thing to come out of this pandemic! Please return to the old formula in the old bottle.
