Koskenkorva Salmiakki is a Finnish treat made with Koskenkorva vodka and another Scandinavian delight that might not be to everyone's taste - salt-liquorice. It's certainly pretty interesting, that's for sure.
Brilliant stuff. Even if salmiakki doesn't quite do it for you, this could. Salty, liqourice, peppery. I personally love it. Not for everyone though.
Made a buisness trip to Helsinki a few years back and was introduced to this wonderful concoction as well as Lapin Kulta. Thankfully, it doesn't have the "bite" of the candy. What it does have is a well balanced initial hit of salt/licorice/pepper/sweet combination with a kick of vodka on the tail end.
Devine. Beautiful velvety smooth salty liquorice with a little kick of vodka at the end.
Sounds dreadful but taste amazing. Drink it ice cold.
