This aromatic Dutch gin is from Willem Barentsz, behold Mandarin & Jasmine! The original gin already has jasmine as a botanical, and for this expression that's been dialled up, with a mandarin peel infusion added to the mix. The base spirit is a mixture of creamy golden rye and sweeter winter wheat, and the spirit is named for Dutch explorer Willem Barentsz. So, the star botanicals here were inspired by his quest for a northeastern trading route to China. Mandarin oranges symbolise luck at Chinese New Year, while the jasmine flowers are sourced from China.
A floral bouquet of jasmine, supported by juniper, sweet orange citrus and a creamy finish.
