An excellent gin from Japan's legendary House of Suntory - Roku Gin. This expression is made using a selection of botanicals, including six Japanese botanicals that provide a whistle-stop tour of the four seasons. These include sakura leaf and sakura flower for spring, sencha tea and gyokuro tea for summer, sansho pepper for autumn and yuzu peel for winter. Traditional gin botanicals also featured include the likes of juniper, orange peel, lemon peel, coriander and cinnamon, among others.
Earthy and vegetal, with a light whisper of fruity sweetness hiding underneath. Peppery notes develop on the finish.
Cherry blossom and green tea provide a floral and sweet aroma.
Complex, multi layered, yet harmonious flavour of various botanicals. Traditional gin taste in the base, plus characteristic Japanese botanical notes with yuzu as the top note. Smooth and silky texture.
The crisp Japanese sansho pepper brings a little spiciness to the finish.
$33.41 - $104.85
Clean crisp and full of flavour. Lovely with some tonic and ice
Bloody good!
I don't have a lot of experience with gin, and this is the 4th I've tried, and it's my favorite so far. My previous ones were Beefeater, Bombay Sapphire, and Aviation. It's got a very vibrant taste to me. I don't have the developed palate to describe what it tastes like, but I enjoy it, and it'll be my go-to gin, especially at this price point. I got a bottle delivered through the gopuff app and it was only $12 for a 750ml bottle. There were delivery fees, of course, but even with that it is cheaper than the others I've tried. I made duplicate martinis, one with Beefeaters, and one with Roku. It isn't even close, really. I did drink them both simultaneously, so I'm feeling pretty good right now! The Roku martini has a lot of flavor, and is very easy to drink.
Oh wow this amazing the flavour is just out of this world
