This spicy expression comes from Opihr Gin's Regional Edition series, which pairs its original recipe with flavours inspired by the spice trade routes of yesteryear. Opihr Gin Far East Edition features the addition of Szechuan pepper and Ajwain, resulting in a particularly punchy flavour profile.
Peppery juniper bolstered by red chilli flakes and coriander leaf. Slightly smoky at points. A hint of lime freshness lifts it up slightly on the finish.
It’s like the original but with warmer notes that add interest and a mild spicy note. One of my favourite gins
This is an extremely nice variant to the original. Very flavourful and almost too good to add a tonic.
I was so excited to try this gin after I received it as a gift. I love the original - it’s definitely my favourite. This one, however, fails to hit the mark in my opinion. I’ve tried with tonic and with ginger and it just doesn’t hit the spot. It almost makes the mixer go flat. I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience? I’ve been left feeling slightly disappointed.
