    Monkey 47 Dry Gin

An unusual gin from the Black Forest in Germany, Monkey 47 contains a unique ingredient. No, not that! Lingonberries! The 47 comes from the number of botanicals that go into this unique gin, and the fact it's bottled at a healthy 47%. It seems that the botanicals speak for themselves, as the gin has received bucketfuls of critical acclaim. Some say less is more, not for Monkey 47!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Oh there is a lot going on here... woody, vegetable smells under pin fresh grassy citrus notes and botanical sweetness, like a pine forest after the rain.

    Palate

Predictably complex, this is a robust and powerful gin with plenty of spice, fruit and herb flavours. It's very well structured, and difficult to unpick but a citrus fresh start segues into pine and wood notes for a drying finish.

    Finish

    Wooded and reassuringly heavy.

    Overall

A unique gin, that is crying out to be made into a Martini. It'll need an equally robust vermouth though.

This liquor is a lot of things but not gin as i know it.

Buyed a bottle of this on expectations to find something truly uniqe. And uniqe it is , it tastes a lot of things but not like any other gin. For me this is close to confusing and guess for those with a far more impresive palate there can be a great palate. Personally i prefer a lot of gins over this.

    Perfectly evening GnT

Amazing, but less og summer drink and more something to enjoy om a book and rainy day. Citrus hints ho well with a sqeezed lime wedge and garnished with spruse stem cutting...

    Hot Mess

Can't understand how this is so pricy, and it's been showing up everywhere. My bar got a bottle that our liquor rep tossed in, we've been pouring it for free to favorite guests just to kill the bottle. There's a whole bunch of stuff going on in this, and none of that stuff is gin. Tastes kinda terrible and very confused. It's exactly what I would expect to happen with a group of enthusiastic, well-meaning Germans trying to make gin. Exactly as the taster describes. Like someone dumped a pine forest after the rain into the bottle and strained out all the planty bits. Also, "the exoticism of India"? What year is this?
