Jinzu

Jinzu Gin brings English and Japanese traditions together to create an exciting, intriguing spirit. It's made with a blend of Scottish gin (featuring juniper, coriander, angelica, yuzu and Japanese cherry blossom as botanicals) and sake, which brings a luxurious, creamy mouth feel and a subtle, compelling sweetness to its flavour profile.
Jinzu Gin was created for (and won!) Diageo's Show Your Spirit competition by Bristol bartender Dee Davies.

What an unusual idea, but how beautifully realised - smooth and tasty, and what need of a tonic? Water is all you need to make this gin mix perfect.
Smooth and soft. The notes of lemon, sake and cherry blossom are there, but as a beautiful perfume/ layer sitting atop a fantastic, classic, English gin. So, so good. Ice, Jinzu, green apple. Bliss.
Tried this at a certain Glasgow Gin Bar when they were out of Japanese Gin, it's excellent. If it were more readily available it could even become my everyday gin.
