HYKE Gin Very Special continues the theme of sustainability set by the original HYKE Gin, this time featuring a base spirit made using pressed wine grapes from English wineries which would otherwise be discarded. The spirit is then blended with neutral grain spirit and a tasty combination of 19 botanicals (featuring the likes of juniper, grapefruit, and lapsang souchong) before being distilled once again. They also add just a drop of aged grape brandy into the mix, introducing a touch of richness to the flavour profile.
A well-rounded, luxurious spirit carries notes of delicate citrus, herbal tea, crisp juniper leading into warming cubeb and ginger spiciness.
