Hendrick’s is something of a household name. Perhaps you've heard of it? This terrific Scottish gin is made using two different stills - the Bennett stillsteeps its botanicals overnight before distillation, while the Carter-Head has its botanicals in a basket up in the still neck, steaming them gently. It features the likes of juniper, cubeb berries, elderflower, chamomile, angelica, lemon peel, orange peel, coriander, yarrow and orris, alongside an infusion of cucumber and rose petal. If you're making a G&T with this, it just has to be garnished with a ribbon of cucumber.
Big, creamy aromas right off the bat, with a little zesty citrus, juniper, rose petal jelly and cucumber.
Astoundingly fresh notes of cucumber with juniper, oak, a touch more citrus and vanilla. Creamy and savoury.
A long, refreshing, floral finish.
I don't personally enjoy the good old G&T, but Hendricks with tonic and a slice of cucumber is the best. Cant beat this drink.
just had it with tonic and really enjoys - beats all the other Gins on offer
Good with tonic, a slice of lemon and cucumber, or even straight, however once you venture out into mixing with juices or colas everything unique about it dies and becomes offensive.....
I love gin and have tried lots of good ones but I always come back to Hendricks. It has a faint scent of rose and works so well with cucumber.
Arriving early at the Lincoln Center for the evenings performance of 'The Barber of Seville" A the Metropolitan opera, I had the most pleasurable expierience @ P.J. Clarkes while accompanying three lovely ladies. While perusing the beverage menu, To my delight i spot their Cucumber Martini Made with Hendricks. I had recently purchased a bottle but had yet to imbibe in it. Well nothing else mattered after the first sip. My three ladies observing my delight at my Martini. They asked for a sip and were mesmerzized by it's taste and it's effects on them. Before you know it, the waiter is currying countless deliveries of their new favorite liquid libation. The opera was the mets first english presentation that just wasn't the same. Nothing could ever be the same after our pre opera Hendrick's cucumber Martinis!
