Hendrick’s is something of a household name. Perhaps you've heard of it? This terrific Scottish gin is made using two different stills - the Bennett stillsteeps its botanicals overnight before distillation, while the Carter-Head has its botanicals in a basket up in the still neck, steaming them gently. It features the likes of juniper, cubeb berries, elderflower, chamomile, angelica, lemon peel, orange peel, coriander, yarrow and orris, alongside an infusion of cucumber and rose petal. If you're making a G&T with this, it just has to be garnished with a ribbon of cucumber.
Big, creamy aromas right off the bat, with a little zesty citrus, juniper, rose petal jelly and cucumber.
Astoundingly fresh notes of cucumber with juniper, oak, a touch more citrus and vanilla. Creamy and savoury.
A long, refreshing, floral finish.
Would be a really nice choice if it was half the price. You could get gins 5 times better with the same amount of money. Apart from the price another complain is that its a bit weak. The moment tonic touches the gin it loses most of its characteristics , something that doesn't happen with most gins.
What on earth is the fuss about? Very dull. There are much more exciting and interesting gins at better prices.
A high end gin that is usually in every good cocktail bar. Beautiful served with a sprig of thyme because I can’t abide the cucumber that most barmen use as a garnish. Very smooth and delicious.
Brother is keen on Hendricks. So I have been trying to find a way to like this gin... He has just left a half empty bottle of duty free 44% Hendricks, so technically this should be an even better version of Hendricks with a lovely higher alcohol volume. Nope, hardly any flavour profile, subtle cucumber...yay! This is definitely emperors new clothes or gin for non gin lovers or just refreshing with tonic/soda. Massively overpriced, far better gins around for half the price!
A cut above the rest in my opinion, just a personal preference. Highly over priced.
