Hendrick’s is something of a household name. Perhaps you've heard of it? This terrific Scottish gin is made using two different stills - the Bennett stillsteeps its botanicals overnight before distillation, while the Carter-Head has its botanicals in a basket up in the still neck, steaming them gently. It features the likes of juniper, cubeb berries, elderflower, chamomile, angelica, lemon peel, orange peel, coriander, yarrow and orris, alongside an infusion of cucumber and rose petal. If you're making a G&T with this, it just has to be garnished with a ribbon of cucumber.
Big, creamy aromas right off the bat, with a little zesty citrus, juniper, rose petal jelly and cucumber.
Astoundingly fresh notes of cucumber with juniper, oak, a touch more citrus and vanilla. Creamy and savoury.
A long, refreshing, floral finish.
I loathe cucumber. Can't abide the taste of the stuff and for a long time I was put off trying this gin because of the nonsense spouted by gin snobs on sites like this one. Glad I decided to try it for myself. It's cool, refreshing, and absolutely my favourite gin. It may include cucumber as a botanical but it certainly does not taste of cucumber. Don't be put off by certain reviews. Drink it with Fever Tree Mediterranean and a slice of lime. Pure nectar!
Today I walked into the LCBO Canada looking for a new gin to try out as a gin Lover. As I was looking at all the different selections I seen a beautiful box that stood out and it was Hendricks gin.. I'm not sure if the box is limited edition but it came with a 375mL bottle inside and the box was almost like Alice in wonderland themed ..Just beautiful and had a bunch of cool pictures on it! It also came with a little "Unassuming little cocktail book" when you open it to take out your gin... So cool!! I bought it for 30$ but well worth it I am going to keep the box because it is a work of art and has very inspiring words on it that also sparked my creativity and hope. Thank you hendricks :)
By far my favorite! Throw some fresh fruit in the glass for a great summer drink! My wife recommends strawberries, I like raspberries. Sliced cucumber or anything else you want to try!
It's not as if a bottle of Hendrick's will run you $80. Apparently there are many who don't prefer the flavor, but this isn't a flavored liqueur, such as cinnamon whisky. As only an occasional gin drinker, Hendrick's works well. I like it over a large ice cube. It's smooth. Nice change of pace on hot summer evening.
Hey "A drink for a "Night at the Opera" - you sound like a pompous asshole.
