A London Dry Gin from the Greensand Ridge Distillery just outside Shipbourne (only a short jaunt north from MoM Towers!), made using a selection of eight botanicals that grow within a mile of the distillery alongside seven classic gin botanicals. The eight locally selected botanicals include cobnuts, hawthorn berries, honey, gorse flowers, rosehips, bay laurel, oak moss and poppy seeds, while the classic botanicals include juniper, bitter orange peel, fresh lemon peel, grains of paradise, coriander, cassia bark and cardamom.
Greensand Ridge don’t just make cracking spirits – they make cracking spirits while mitigating food waste, reducing emissions, minimising chemical use and eliminating waste!
Fresh juniper and orange at first, followed by crushed nuts and a delicate waft of earthy spice.
Light and creamy mouth-feel, carrying herbaceous notes of bay laurel and coriander. Subtle citrus and some peppery juniper.
Floral, with the nutty notes from the nose returning.
One of my real favourites, it reminds me a little of the excellent but now (inexplicably) discontinued Gordon's Distillers Cut. Fabulous and really original flavours.
Brilliant gin. Good flavour but not OTT nor too bland. My "go to" gin of over 20 gins on my drinks trolley!
Beautiful. Simply a joy to drink!
I bought a bottle as a gift for a friend who lives in Kent. I thought they'd enjoy the whole 'your local botanicals in a glass' thing. We tried it together and it's very well made. A soft but bright gin, it feels very English - woodland and laurel, mixed with the traditional gin botanicals. Highly recommend.
A tremendous gin! The taste is great, no need for a lemon slice in the glass, just savour the flavour. Did a tasting with well known brand gins, and it was no contest. Welcome to the sideboard, Greensand Ridge!
