Reviews for Boudier Saffron Gin
Exotic and wonderful in a martini
This gin is wonderful - but in my view it is a gin for a martini and not a Gin & Tonic; which picks up comments in previous reviews. So, if you love martini, then you should try this gin! I first had it in a up market Anglo-Indian restaurant and I was delighted to find a UK stockist. Well done Master of Malt.

Gets you close to a Vesper Martini
A very different gin! At first a bit of a shock, but it grows on you. Then, I stuck gold..... I have spent years trying bars and restaurants to get close to a Vesper Martini, and have experimented myself. Well, if you have the same quest, try Saffron gin with a bit of vodka and a twist of lemon, it's super!

Bitter. Needs masking to drink.
We live in Asia and sample a hell of a lot of gins and this one has to be the worst we have had. Do not buy this to drink in an gin and tonic or you will be disappointed. It's bearable if you mask it (no cvid19 pun intended!) with something else. Eg.... Lemonade. And as a gin drinker I can't believe I'm actually saying that. If you love astringent drinks you may well enjoy it.

Bad Aftertaste ruins this Gin
One of the worst Gins I have ever tasted. I tried to use it all Gin-based Cocktails and longdrinks, but it has a penetrant, medicinal aftertaste and hardly any of my friends liked the taste.
If one ignores the aftertaste, the gin is actually very good. But it is so hard to ignore, that it ruins this Gin.

Hated it
Got this as a Christmas gift, but it tasted like antiseptic to me.

Exotic and warm
Exotic flavour. Slightly dry aftertaste with a warm glow. Using what is probably the most expensive spice in the world results in a unique flavour.

Not great, strong aftertaste
This is quite a bitter gin, goes well in a negroni, but not very drinkable in a G&T. We had a gin party with 20 people and out of 8 gins, this came out absolute bottom, hardly anyone liked it, it has quite a strong and bitter aftertaste.

Glorious
This gin is a delight! We stumbled upon it in a small restaurant called Hathaways in Dunster Somerset and will be forever grateful to them for introducing us to it. It's a glorious gold colour when poured and has a unique and delightful taste. We have bought a few bottles through Master of Malt and friends and family really love it. Deserves to be a best seller.
