The Cotswolds Distillery in Stourton is up and running - hooray! This is their Cotswolds Dry Gin, made with juniper, coriander and angelica root macerated in their pure wheat spirit for 24 hours. Following this, they add a botanical selection including bay leaf, grapefruit, lime, black pepper, cardamom seed and Cotswolds lavender to their carter head still for distillation. To bring it down to bottling strength, a robust 46% ABV, they use naturally refined Cotswolds water.
The Cotswolds Distillery also released its own single malt whisky in 2017 - so you can get your hands on a bottle now!
Light, floral juniper blends well with the Cotswolds lavender. This soon gives way to the vibrant grapefruit peel and warming cardamom.
Opening with grapefruit, fresh juniper and black pepper, followed by herbaceous notes of bay leaf, coriander and angelica. More lavender brings a bright, delicate character to the full-bodied gin.
Refreshingly clean on the palate, with lime and bay leaf.
We have been drinking Gin for years. Have many favourites But Cotswold Dry Gin has to be our new favourite. It is exquisite and beautifully balanced leaving the palate begging for more! We have been converting our friends!
Cotswold dry Gin is beautiful the best I’ve ever tasted. I went on a tour of the distillery Around 3 yrs ago and after having a sample had to buy a bottle and haven’t stopped praising it since
can't fault this gin, punchy juniper and grapefruit. So much flavour! definitely in my top 5
Extremely enjoyable gin. Now working our way through our second bottle. Highly recommended.
My wife bought me this as a birthday present. I had read the label and it stated that it was a version of a London him so she bought a bottle. To my surprise when I added the tonic it turned a funny colour and it tasted nothing like a London gin. Very strong lavender tones and frankly quite horrible. If I had known about the lavender then I would have avoided it. Mis selling when you go by the label. My advice is avoid at all costs. Expensive and unpalatable.
