While the Cotswolds Ditillery continues to wait for their whisky to mature, they've created their very own cask aged gin! 1616 Gin is inspired by Dutch Genevers of yore, though it's been made with their single malt spirit rather than a mixture of malted grains like what would have been used back in the day. They combine the spirit with plenty of juniper, as well as cassia, nutmeg and orange peel before allowing it to mature in American oak ex-red wine barrels. 2,000 bottles have been produced.
Sweet and malty, with a touch of redcurrant and crystallised ginger amongst the well-rounded juniper elements.
