A bright and citrusy cumquat gin from Australia bursting with all the zest and zip you’d expect. It was named after founder Eddie Brooks’ grandmother Shirely, AKA, ‘Shirl the Pearl’, who made a mean bootleg version of this recipe. It’s made by steeping locally grown cumquats in Brookie’s Dry Gin for several months. Try it with tonic or mix with lemon, honey and hot water for an exotic hot toddy.
Bright, fresh and zesty with notes of orange blossom, mandarin and marmalade balanced by a sweet bitterness.
This is one of my favourite Australian gins - fruity but not heavy, beautiful to drink straight, a really fun one.
