The flagship expression produced by the Cape Byron distillery on the southeast coast of Australia. Brookie's Byron Dry Gin is made with a hefty recipe of 26 botanicals, with many of them being native to the region in which the distillery resides, including Byron sunrise finger lime, cinnamon myrtle, aniseed myrtle, river mint, raspberry, macadamia and more. Works particularly well in a Gin Martini...
Fresh spearmint leaf and pine shoots. Layers of cooking spice develop underneath, leading towards oak-y juniper warmth.
Loads of flavours with a lovely wee kick of spice and a punch from the 46% but so smooth at the same time
I finally made it to Australia after the lockdowns. Was introduced to Brookie's/Cape Byron Distillery. Such a lovely combination of incredible sustainability story and sumptuous gin - I got a bottle as soon as I got back!
So many unusual botanicals and they make a great combination - I can highly recommend.
Read an article about this gin from a re-generated rainforest and just had to check it out. Great gin and sustainable - win win!!
No idea when I'll get back to the lucky country but lucky me received a bottle as a gift from an Aussie friend who's been raving about the gin and distillery. So good, I've just ordered another. So many awesome flavours I'm not used to in a British gin.
