Beefeater 24 Bottling Note

A more recent addition to the Beefeater range. When creating Beefeater 24, Desmond Payne knew he had to come up with something totally different for his selection of botanicals. He used tea! The 12 ingredients used are Japanese Sencha Tea, Chinese green tea and then Seville orange peel, grapefruit peel, lemon peel, juniper, coriander seed, liquorice, angelica root, almond and orris root. It is called Beefeater 24 because the botanicals are steeped in the spirit for a full 24 hours. The result is a fragrant gin with good sweetness.

Beefeater 24 Reviews

Great value for money

Picked up a bottle for €25. It's reasonably cheaper than the likes of other quality gins such as Hendricks, Gunpowder, Tanqueray 10, yet it's right up with them in terms of taste and quality. With that in mind I would say this is probably the best value for money gin out there. It's crisp and refreshing

Looking for more

Bought one in Edmonton Alberta trying to find some on Vancouver Island. As to the red bottle I love it and the reason I bought

Good but not better than the original

I don’t find much of a difference between 24 and regular Beefeater. It’s a good gin but not worth the additional expense.

A great gin for your G&T's

A really good gin that shot up in price shortly after I had first bought it a few years ago, though luckily the price hasn't risen too much here in the UK.

Nice gin, crap bottle makes it look like blood.

It's still a very nice gin indeed, although I'm not totally sure it's exactly the same?? However the big but is ... the bottle!! – While having the familiar embossing on the side, the bottles are all red, as opposed to just the thick glass bottom being red. It makes the gin look disconcertingly like diluted blood, which is quite unpleasant. Is this a permanent change or a one-off? The sooner you return to the original bottle the better, for me. The original bottle looked classy; this one just looks ghastly.

Had it as a Martini in Boston. Bartender said that it was just a new bottle. Not so. One sip had me wondering, just didn't seem right, too much like Bombay --- slightly sweet, a bit too much of everything.
I know that you have to satisfy the new generation of drinkers and also try to gain shelf space, but please do not mess with the original. It's still the standard!

Technically you're wrong, the Botanicals are steeped for 24 hours Prior to distillation, if they were added to the spirit after distillation it would not be 'distilled' gin
