Almost half a pound of the finest Sloes are used to produce every bottle of this cold-compounded Sloe Gin, along with a merry band of botanicals, including juniper berries, cassia, coriander, cloves, and orange peel, which are all added to high quality copper-pot-still spirit. The result? A Sloe Gin that has tonnes and tonnes (and tonnes) of character. Serve with tonic water, or perhaps try replacing the Maraschino in your Martinez with a generous splash of Sloe Gin.
Maybe you'd like to put Bathtub Gin - Sloe Gin to the test in the Sloe Gin Sloe Mule recipe, which we've included below.
Ableforth's Sloe Gin Sloe Mule recipe:
40ml of Bathtub Sloe Gin
20ml of lime juice
3 dashes of Angostura bitters
Top with ginger beer
Build over ice in a highball glass. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.
Marzipan and juniper waft up with waves of cinnamon and hot clove. Citrus swirls in the background, dancing with aromas of freshly baked cakes.
Almond and berries on the entry. The berries last throughout, thick and seriously flavoursome. Hints of vanilla. Oak tannins, too.
Spices last on the finish. Lip-smacking ensues.
Everything you ever wanted from a Sloe Gin. Enough classic berry notes with vibrant botanicals to bring it to life. Bring on summer for some Sloe cocktails, then bring on winter for hot mulled Sloe gin. Then bring on more Sloe gin. Everything is cyclical, you see...

This is incredibly good!! As others have mentioned, an almondy hit with just the right sweetness. My only gripe is the price. While it's great for home use (I have 2 bottles at home), it's VERY difficult to incorporate this into a cocktail in a bar and keep the price sensible. A shame - we'd sell SO much more of this if the price was a little lower. Don't get me wrong, I understand that the process is probably more expensive than many of their competitors but I'd love to see it come down just a tiny bit.
Absolutely the best sloe gin I've ever had - whenever I introduce people to it they love it. I literally cannot get enough of this stuff - great in tonic, or just fizzy water to make a delicious "sloe-gin fizz". Get yourself a bottle now, stop reading this and do it.
This isn't a sloe gin - it's a monster. Light notes of almond on the nose put one in mind of a bakewell tart, then BOOOOMM - the palate comes in with a huge hit of acidity balanced by sweetness, together with a good load of tannin. Not only the best sloe gin on the market - probably the best liqueur on the market. Excelsior.
Even better than our home-made sloe gin, or any other we've tasted
I concur with the review below, it is simply magnificent! I've had some damn good sloe gins before, including home made, but this blows everything out the water. This sloe gin sets a new bar, and it is very, very high.
