Maturing whisky in Sherry casks is a wonderful, noble and delicious undertaking. But what about gin? As it turns out, ageing gin in Sherry casks is similarly wonderful, noble and delicious - as confirmed by That Boutique-y Gin Company's bottling of Ableforth's Bathtub Gin which has been aged in an Oloroso Sherry cask!
Batch 6 is a limited release of 129 bottles.
Quite powerful oak influence, with thick Sherry and crushed pepper notes at the fore. Orange peels and cinnamon develop underneath.
Coffee, dark chocolate and raisins as it opens. Juniper and yet more orange peel stand sturdy at the core.
Waxy fruit, peppered oak and mint leaf freshness.
