That Boutique-y Gin Company

That Boutique-y Gin Company's first batch of Ableforth's Bathtub Gin was aged for 6 months in a first-fill 50 litre Palo Cortado Sherry cask. Thirsty yet? Fantastic with a quality tonic or in cocktails with Italian/sweet vermouth.
Batch 1 a limited release of just 100 bottles.
Cinnamon gum, mint leaf and mixed peels. Ginger ale and baking spices develop later on.
Shortbread with raisins. Apricots, almonds and an intense burst of juniper.
Buttery and a little cake-y. Hints of anise and sultanas remain.
Really fascinating stuff.

Absolutely beautiful, warming and tasty, drunk neat.
The cask has clearly rounded off some of the more volatile notes to BTG - leading to something that (even at 57%abv) is very easily sippable neat.
This is no ordinary gin. This is Bathtub gin! But it doesn't taste only of gin. It is so much more complex than that. Biscuits and cake are definitely in there. And the nose almost made me want to drink it neat! Need to order another bottle before the 100 are sold out!
