This limited edition 6 O'Clock 5 Year Old Sloe Gin was created by steeping 6 O’clock London Dry Gin in sloes for a total of five years, which is an extraordinarily long time for this process. The idea was for the spirit to be left so long it would start to oxidise, which would cause it to darken and lose all of its tartness to become more like a vintage tawny Port.
Raspberry jam, thick toffee honey sweetness and chocolate combine before toasted almonds and a little baking spice emerge.
Its nice to see a distillery doing it properly. Most commercially availiable Sloe and Damson gins are often to thin, to young or lack depth charachter. This Aged Sloe is the exception its good. They only made 1000 bottles I have 2 1/2 remaining. Excellent well presented gift. Would love to see a re emergence of Mulberry Gin.
This is amazing! Deep in colour, complex in flavour. So worth the additional expense
