So many you need a whisky compass. For you we can help. We’re taking you North, South, East, and West. See the differences in local barley or maturation climate.

Southern Whiskies

Down south there are experiments in grain all over the place. The East London Liquor Company is bringing a capital spin on the classic American rye, as are The Oxford Artisan Distillery with corn in its portfolio too, and Masthouse similarly making waves with grain in its dockyard location.

Northern Whiskies

Up north Wire Works Whisky make whisky with a midlands brewing perspective, Filey Bay are brewer-backed too while thriving among fields of Yorkshire barley, and The Lakes Distillery shows class with its cask selections.

Eastern Whiskies

To the east there’s English booze heritage, with the original English whisky makers at St George’s Distillery and Adnams bringing decades of beer experience to whisky creation.

Western Whiskies

Moving west the Cotswolds Distillery has local grain and cracking casks to boast of, Dartmoor is doing things differently with a Cognac still, and Hell's Stone Whisky showing that there’s more to Cornwall than pasties!
