Vibrantly flavoursome raspberry eau-de-vie from the Greensand Ridge Distillery just outside Shipbourne (a short ramble north from MoM Towers!). Part of the distillery’s aim is to work with local farmers to use surplus or unwanted produce to make tasty drinks, saving the fruit from a potential trip to the landfill. The raspberries used for this were too imperfect for supermarkets, but great for using in a tasty tipple! They were infused in wheat spirit, then distilled in Greensand Ridge’s copper pot still and bottled at 40% ABV. The name is a reference to the German term for this technique, Geist - nothing to be scared of here!
