What is Pride?

In 1969 The Stonewall Inn, a safe space for queer folk, was subject to a police raid. During this, Drag King, Stormé DeLarverie iconically challenged onlookers ‘Why don’t you people do something?’

This event ignited what we know today as the LGBTQIA+ rights movement, and for the 50 years since the community has been protesting and campaigning for visibility, recognition, and respect.

Each June we commemorate and celebrate those who’ve come before us and the progress made so far. Marking the occasion with parades, festivals, and the opportunity to reflect on the pursuit of acceptance.

It is also a time march in support and recognition with the LGBTQIA+ people around the world that continue to experience discrimination and disadvantage today.

PRIDE is both a protest and celebration of diversity and love.

When is Pride London?

The annual parade and celebration in London will take place on 29 June, 2024, save the date!
