Saigon Baigur

Saigon Baigur is a premium gin brand from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It stands out for its use of 12 distinctive local botanicals, offering a Vietnamese perspective to the ever-expanding gin world.

There’s black cardamom from the dense jungles in the most Northern part of Vietnam, the rare Buddha’s Hand citrus fruit grown in the capital of Hanoi, Saigon Cinnamon from the Annamite mountain ranges in the central Highlands and Lotus flower from the Mekong Delta. Together with Macedonian Juniper and nine other local botanicals, master distiller Phu Nguyen crafts Saigon Baigur.

The decision to create a Vietnamese gin came from the many motorcycle trips along the country’s rugged terrains Saigon Baigur’s founders took. Having witnessed the incredible diversity in landscapes, cultures, cuisines and herbs in the 2000-kilometre-long country, the founders spent two years developing a recipe. Saigon Baigur is distilled in the city of Saigon, while the name Baigur derives from the first known settlement in this area, a small fish and spice trading outpost.

Saigon Baigur's symbol is inspired by the dragon, a mythological figure representing power, prosperity, and essential agricultural rain in local culture. The bottle design mirrors the dragon's scales, a project that took over a year to realize due to the challenge of finding a glass producer willing to undertake this unique and daring design. After numerous attempts, they finally achieved a distinctive bottle that perfectly complements their equally exceptional gin.
