Gin Lane 1751
Gin Lane 1751 was created in partnership with legendary 8th generation distiller Charles Maxwell of Thams Distillers in London, England, and The Bloomsbury Club. This Avengers-style line-up of juniper fanatics drew inspiration from a pivotal moment in British history when the Gin Act of 1751 was introduced to combat the gin craze sweeping London. It also evokes the great William Hogarth satire, Beer Street and Gin Lane, which showed the inhabitants of of the latter in peril after imbibing “mother’s ruin”.
The gins are created in traditional small pot stills in a ‘Victorian style’ which means a London dry expression that balances juniper, star anise, and Mediterranean citrus as well as an Old Tom bottling and an authentic ‘Victoria’ pink gin, taking the full-bodied London Dry base and blending it was an Angostura-like bitter. There’s also limited releases from the Victorian Garden Series, featuring gins with natural, foraged botanicals.
