Ezra Brooks

Frank Silverman founded Ezra Brooks whiskey in 1957 at the Hoffman Distilling Company in Lawrenceburg, KY. This region is famous for whiskey production. Ezra Brooks quickly became a favourite bourbon brand.

In the 1970s, the Hoffman Distilling Company shut down. This could have ended Ezra Brooks. Instead, it marked a new beginning. In 1993, Luxco acquired Ezra Brooks. Luxco saw potential in the brand.

Under Luxco, Ezra Brooks thrived. Known for its sour mash process and authenticity, the brand expanded its whiskey range. In 2018, it moved to Bardstown, Kentucky's 'Bourbon County'. This brought the brand back to bourbon's heartland.

The new 18,000ft² distillery blends modern production with traditional Kentucky spirit-making. It has six barrel warehouses for ageing whiskey. This ensures the slow maturation that gives Ezra Brooks its rich and full-bodied flavour.

A 43-foot custom copper still is the distillery's centrepiece. It shows the craftsmanship in each bottle and the brand's commitment to traditional bourbon-making.

The whiskey represents Kentucky bourbon's resilience and appeal. The range includes the popular Black Label with vanilla, caramel, and spice. The brand offers a taste of American whiskey heritage.

Despite modernisation, Ezra Brooks stays true to its Kentucky origins. The whiskey ages in new, charred American white oak barrels. Kentucky's climate enhances the whiskey's flavour, giving it a signature amber colour and deep character. Each sip tells a story, from corn sweetness to smoky finish.

Moving to Bardstown has strengthened Ezra Brooks' status in American whiskies. Its affordability and approachable flavour make it a favourite among both experts and new bourbon drinkers.
