Bacoo Rum
Bacoo Rum is a rum producer that bottles well-aged rums from the likes of the Dominican Republic. The name was inspired by the Bacoo legend, a mythical, playful spirit said to live in empty corked rum bottles in the sea. Like a genie, but with a Caribbean twist. Bacoo is said to look like a fairytale dwarf, with big eyes and long limbs. In many West African languages, "Baku" means "little brother" or "short man", suggesting a link to the legend. To keep a Bacoo happy, the myth says that you must feed it milk and bananas or it might use its power to change shape and cause unseen problems. You can catch an unruly Bacoo with them too and seal the bottle it with a cork.
