WoodWinters found this cask at a Scottish distillery where it had been held for over ten years, having made it's way over from Cognac itself in a most unusual and, as of yet, unexplained journey, accompanied by a sister cask of Armagnac.
Having effectively become an early landed Cognac, WoodWinters bought the cask, code-named 'Kenmay 1', and bottled it at a cask strength 56.3% ABV, completely unfiltered, to retain the Franco-Scottish character of the vintage 1993 Cognac.
Orange chocolate, woody figs, seedless raisins, candied peels and tobacco leaf.
Thick honey, ripe apricot, juicy dates, and cacao nibs form around white oak and rancio.
Toasted walnuts, sweet apricot jam and hints of acacia honey surrounded by vanilla.
