Painturaud Frères
Crafted by the fourth generation of the Painturaud family, this VSOP showcases the freshness and finesse of Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie. Aged for at least five years, it delivers bright fruit, floral notes, and a light vanilla touch—a wonderfully balanced Cognac that shines neat, on ice, or in cocktails.
Fragrant fruit and blossom with a gentle waft of vanilla and spice.
Fresh and lively with stone fruit, citrus zest, and a creamy undercurrent.
Smooth and elegant with subtle sweetness and floral lift.

For a mid-priced VSOP this one feels special — coming from the “Grande Champagne” area helps. I enjoyed it neat and also tried it on a single large ice cube. My only gripe: I would’ve liked the finish to linger a little longer, but otherwise very satisfying.
I picked this up as a treat and it doesn’t disappoint. The bottle pours a nice amber-glow and right away there’s a simple vanilla and flower scent. Not overly heavy, which is perfect after dinner with a bit of ice. Probably will grab again.
